Segment --- сегмент.

When [math]\displaystyle{ M }[/math] is a cycle, for [math]\displaystyle{ i,j }[/math] with [math]\displaystyle{ i \leq j \lt i+p }[/math], we define the segment [math]\displaystyle{ M[v_{i},v_{j}] }[/math] of [math]\displaystyle{ M }[/math] by [math]\displaystyle{ M[v_{i},v_{j}] = (v_{i},v_{i+1}, \ldots, v_{j}) }[/math] (indices are to be read modulo [math]\displaystyle{ p }[/math]); when [math]\displaystyle{ M }[/math] is a path, for [math]\displaystyle{ i,j }[/math] with [math]\displaystyle{ 1 \leq i \leq j \leq p }[/math], we define the segment [math]\displaystyle{ M[v_{i},v_{j}] }[/math] of [math]\displaystyle{ M }[/math] by [math]\displaystyle{ M[v_{i},v_{j}] = (v_{i}, v_{i+1}, \ldots, v_{j}) }[/math].
